PASCAL Delivers (Universal Borrowing) Implementation Schedule Announced Print E-mail

We are planning for the formal launch of the "PASCAL Delivers" service for August 2006! This is our working name for the universal borrowing system built on the Innovative Interfaces InnREACH system and the statewide materials delivery RFP.

Here is our revised project timeline.  It outlines major elements of our implementation and training plan. This schedule is based discussions in December/Early January between PASCAL and Innovative staff, the chair of the PASCAL Universal Borrowing Committee, and our implementation consultant (Debbi Schaubman from the Michigan Electronic Library). We will be refining this schedule further, but the events in red represent firm targets.

We will be contacting members over the next several weeks in order to begin developing each library~Rs schedule for bibliographic loading, training and implementing universal borrowing using the new system.

  • January - Pilot Group Testing (In-House Testing)
        Bibliographic Profiling
        Development of Initial Load Schedule

  • February - Outreach and Library Awareness Campaign
        Release of Delivery RFP

  • Feb. - May III/Sirsi Library Database Loads

  • April - Delivery Vendor Selection

  • May 8 - 12 Training the Trainers (from libraries in the soft-start)

  • May 19 - 22 Innovative Interfaces Users~R Group (Denver)
