| PASCAL Website Redesign |

We've been working on a redesign of the PASCAL website. The new design
highlights our major programs and anticipates an increasing focus on
our end-user resources. We hope that the new design will increase
public understanding of PASCAL's programs and facilitate deployment of
the union catalog and other end-user oriented tools such as federated
search of Collegiate DISCUS and DISCUS resources and our digital
collections locator, "SC Memory." We will be implementing many new
features over the next several months as these programs continue to
grow.
Similarly, we are working on improved communications and member service tools that will be maintained behind a password-protected membership site. Presently, this site can be accessed through a "members access" link at the bottom of each page. (For the moment, it looks amazingly like the traditional PASCAL website, but this will evolve increasing capablities over the next few months. We plan on turning on the password the week of January 16, and will be distributing a simple password via email next week.
