The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) is hosting a
three-day workshop for library and information technology
administrators who need in-depth information about the planning,
purchase, implementation, and management of digital assets. The
workshop, "Managing Digital Assets," will focus on the
latest trends in digital-content management and on how small and
midsize academic libraries can incorporate new approaches into their
operations.
The conference will be held February 4-6, 2005 in
Charleston, South Carolina. PASCAL, the Partnership Among South
Carolina Academic Libraries, with the assistance of funding from the
South Carolina State Library, is pleased to announce twenty awards for
South Carolina academic and public libraries, archives, and museums to
send representatives to the CLIR conference. The awards are part of the
2004 LSTA grant received to assist PASCAL~Rs efforts in the South
Carolina Digital Library Initiative. Fifteen awards will provide
registration for conference participants from South Carolina and five
awards will provide registration and hotel for participants from South
Carolina.
Interested institutions should send a letter of interest to the address below no later than December 3, 2004. Please also include answers to the following questions. What digital assets does your institution have? What plans are in place for building or maintaining digital assets? What benefits do you see for your institution from participation at the conference? Are you willing to consider sharing your digital assets with PASCAL and South Carolina?
