This page provides information for librarians about current PASCAL Electronic Resource issues, including databases licensed or purchased, access information, branding strategies and training.  As the program grows, this page will become increasingly active, so check back often.

1.  Databases/Electronic Content - Currently, the PASCAL Electronic Resource collection consists of databases or e-journals licensed from numerous vendors.  Negotiations are underway for additional licenses.

Access Science:  Over 8,500 articles from the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science & Technology, 10th edition; Research Updates from the McGraw-Hill Yearbooks of Science & Technology; 110,000+ definitions from the McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms and much more. Institute of Physics: In 2003, PASCAL purchased journal archives of the Institute of Physics between 1874 and 1992.  PASCAL will be maintaining annual updates to the archives.  For more information on access, please see the Institute of Physics .

LexisNexis: PASCAL subscribes to LexisNexis Academic.  For more information on access, please see  LexisNexis Academic Update Information

Liebert Online: This service delivers electronic access to peer-reviewed journals published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. This critical mass of content exceeds 28,000 papers from more than fifty-five authoritative journals, all full-text searchable and linked to external bibliographic databases.  Liebert Online is universally acknowledged for providing authoritative peer-reviewed journals in the most promising areas of biotechnology, biomedical research/life sciences, clinical medicine and surgery, and law.  For more information on access, please see Liebert Online Update Information

Nature: Nature is a weekly international journal publishing the finest peer-reviewed research in all fields of science and technology on the basis of originality, importance, interdisciplinary interest, timeliness, accessibility, elegance and surprising conclusions. ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Source^TM: ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Source provides users with reliable healthcare information covering nursing, allied health, alternative and complementary medicine, and much more. This versatile database is designed to meet the needs of researchers at healthcare facilities as well as nursing and allied health programs at academic institutions. 2. Branding - Promotion of  PASCAL's Electronic Resource collection is critical to our long-term success. In order to promote the collection, as well as to give credit to the General Assembly for our funding, PASCAL plans to maintain control over branding within the databases. PASCAL will place logos and acknowledgement statements within the databases wherever possible, and may request help from member institutions in some cases.  We expect that member libraries will be enthusiastic about publicizing the provider of these resources.
