As part of the joint PASCAL/DISCUS electronic resource package, PASCAL will provide a central EBSCOhost Integrated Search (EHIS) portal which will allow users to simultaneously search the statewide EBSCO databases as well as other centrally funded electronic resources like Gale's Literature Resource Center.
The South Carolina State Library and the Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries (PASCAL) have collaborated to provide statewide electronic content for all citizens around resources provided by EBSCO Inc. beginning July 1, 2012. Funds contributed by PASCAL libraries support the joint procurement. The PASCAL license will cover the centerpiece component of the EBSCO package, Academic Search Premier, and a selection of two products, chosen by each institution (in many cases one of these resources will be CINAHL Full Text). The DISCUS license will cover more than 30 additional EBSCO resources to schools, public libraries and institutions of higher education across the state. In addition, the statewide package will also include a robust set of additional resources from other vendors. PASCAL will continue to provide statewide access for Gale Literature Resource Center and the Institute of Physics archive and is exploring supplementary electronic resource offerings which could be of benefit to PASCAL institutions. For more info, see the links below.
