More information on PASCAL's Funding Crisis

Milestone: PASCALcat at 85% Print E-mail

Despite the 90% budget cut, PASCAL continues to add libraries to Pascalcat, thereby offering rapid book delivery to even more students and faculty throughout South Carolina.

As of September 2008, PASCALcat is 85% complete in terms of the number of participating libraries. During September, the seven PAILS consortium libraries were trained to use PASCAL Delivers; more than half of these libraries are already live, offering PASCAL Delivers to their students and faculty.

Only ten libraries are yet to be added to PASCALcat. Among the remaining ten, the State Library, Trident Technical College, Limestone and Newberry Colleges should all be added in the coming months, bringing us even closer to our final goal.

Thus far in 2008, more than 20,000 books have circulated via PASCAL Delivers. Looking at a comparable period in 2007, 6,800 books were circulated. With the bulk of the fall semester still before us, usage is already three times that of last year.

Please join us in welcoming Coker, Southern Wesleyan, Benedict, Columbia International, Erskine, North Greenville University, and Voorhees to PASCAL Delivers.
