PASCAL's Funding Crisis Print E-mail

In FY 2008-9, the legislature reduced funding for PASCAL's programs by 90% (more than $1.8 million). Universal access to many high value information resources that we provided to all of South Carolina's students and faculty was lost.

PASCAL libraries and their parent institutions have struggled to maintain an important core level of service, but even these reduced services are in danger of being lost. Learn more about PASCAL on life support here.

Loss of universal access to the knowledge we provide South Carolina's students is having a devastating impact on the state in many ways, but it also adversely affects individual students and teachers in the classrooms of our colleges and universities.
