This year (FY 2008-9), the legislature reduced funding for PASCAL's programs by 90% (more than $1.8 million). Effective Monday, August 18, PASCAL Delivers service will be reduced from 5-days to 3-days per week. This 40% reduction in service was made necessary due to the 90% reduction in state funding for PASCAL programs. At the present time, we will be able to maintain this scaled-back delivery schedule through June 30, 2009. More... In July 2009, we will need to make far deeper cuts if funding is not restored. Loss of universal access to the knowledge we provide South Carolina's students is having a devastating impact on the state in many ways, but it also adversely affects individual students and teachers in the classrooms of our colleges and universities.
