| Clemson University | PASCAL has been an amazing resource for obtaining texts in physics and engineering that are relevant to both the undergraduate and graduate research in my nanoscience laboratory. Often these texts are available for several hundred dollars online (for the full text); however, as we usually need only one chapter or article, it makes no sense for us to purchase the full text. This is especially true when there is already another local institution that has a copy on hand for our use. As a student of Furman University and a person who has a deep love of learning, I often find myself using academic databases to locate information relevant to a topic that I am researching. I am an Asian studies and political science major and many of the resources that I require to complete projects can be accessed through Academic Search Premier. In addition, my personal love of learning and knowledge often takes me online and to Academic Search Premier in search of relevant articles. Recently, I've made extensive use of Academic Search Premier as I have developed an interest in economic and political reform undertaken by the Soviet leadership in the late 1980's. I've used Academic Search Premier throughout my academic career here at Furman and believe that it has contributed greatly not only to my research, but to my intellectual growth as well. I've been lucky to benefit from this service for the four years I've been at Furman and believe that students at this institution and other South Carolina institutions should continue to enjoy this fantastic service.
